LA PLATA ISLAND TOURS
The Isla de la Plata, catalogued as the small Galapagos because of its similarity, conserves species such as the BLUE-footed PIQUEROS, FRAGATAS, RED-footed PIQUEROS, PELICANOS, TROPICAL BIRDS, ALBATROS, NAZCA PIQUEROS.

As for the marine life, the beautiful sea turtles that welcome visitors in the small bay and the colorful fish give life to the reef.

ITINERARY:

• 9:00 Departure from Hotel Café Madame
• 9:30 Departure to the tourist pier to take the boat (capacity for 16 pax, it has 2 seasonal 4-stroke ecological engines, and all the safety equipment).
• 9:50 Departure to Isla de la Plata (1 hour navigation, in high season June to Sep. we stop 20 minutes for whale watching).
• 11:00 Arrival in Isla de la Plata
• 11:25 Walk along the different trails Punta Machete or Punta Escalera (this is coordinated with the Naturalist guides of the Machalilla National Park).
• 14:00 Visit to the snorkeling site (45 minutes, there we can observe a beautiful coral reef, colorful fish and sea turtles).
• 15:00 Box lunch (2 sandwiches, one of tuna and one of cheese with lettuce and tomato, 2 portions of fruit, water, soda and banana cake).
• 17:00 Arrival to Pto Lopez.

These marine cetaceans visit us from June to September, in the waters of Machalilla National Park show us their charms to fall in love and reproduce, with their flapping, females reach up to 16 meters while males measure up to 14 meters.

• 11:55 Whale watching
• 13:15 visit to the snorkeling site (we can see colorful fish and a well preserved reef, this can be in Salango Island, or in the Horno de pan islet, depending on where we find the humpback whales).

From December to May we can enjoy an excellent climate, and the coastal profile that we can find in the waters of the Machalilla National Park. Salango Island, located 20 minutes from Puerto Lopez, has 400 meters of beach with crystal clear waters where we can observe coral reefs and colorful fish.

• 11:45 Seabird watching at Punta mala cliff, observation of the King Kong rock and the rock turtle.
• 12:20 visit to the snorkeling site (we can appreciate colorful fish, coral reefs, kayak ride.

• 14:00 return to Pto Lopez

Just 20 minutes from Puerto Lopez is located the Comuna El Pital, there we can make a hiking or horseback riding tour to the rainforest of San Sebastian, this forest is located 800 meters above sea level. And we can enjoy the rainforest, and its species such as howler monkeys, toucans, monkeys and others.
